Journal #1. Visits with Professor Vde at Gundlee who says that on the issue of peace he stands alone against all the priests, bishops, and now the Pope as well. Vde feels that the Pope is in error recently, and so he has written some articles against the Papal message. Vde also said that all the Bishops "greeted" Hitler, and it was not until they began to suffer arrest that they opposed the regime or supported his opponents.
