Journal #1. Travels to go see Sr. Gertrude, who is one of the most profoundly pacifist people he has met in Germany. She gives him references and suggests that he go to the Berlin House to get the full story of the Catholic peace movement in Berlin. She says it was very strong, but later merged with Pax Christi. She also gave him the names of two clergymen who were executed specifically because of their refusal to serve.
