Correspondence. The men are depressed--nothing seems to cheer them up anymore. It appears that two of the men are suffering from mental breakdowns of sorts. Even his usual beer drinking is not a remedy. He says that the men in the army must have the same lack of ambition even though they have the money to go places and the USO to keep their morale high.
