He appreciates the postal cards Edwards sent for his collection. While working in the shop at school a piece of iron injured his eye. This prevented him from studying. They wait for Edwards to tell them when he will come to Louisville. They have some new china. :: XI-2-c A.L.S. 2pp.

He received Edwards' letter. At present, he is excited about the outcome of the Thanksgiving game. He feels their chances slim, but it promises to be a clean game. Although he has been very busy he has been anxiously expecting to hear from Edwards. Their team has done itself proud. By the middle of June they expect to be installed in their new home. It is too bad that Edwards was taken sick with the grippe. The last two Sundays have been exceptionally fine and they all go driving. He is now getting a taste of college study, working for two or three hours every day on his trigonometry. They were greatly disappointed when Edwards did not come to Louisville. He knows Edwards would enjoy the games. Tonight Nat Goodwin and Maxine Elliot will present Merchant of Venice, and on the next two mights E. H. Southern will appear in Hamlet. He has changed his mind about going to Buffalo. He has started to work in the machine shop of the Southern railroad. A strike is in progress and the places are being filled by non-union men. He is a school boy once more after his first attempt at work and one of the most pleasant summers he has known. School life is a cinch compared with real work. Owing to an eruption with one of his instructors he is out of a class this hour and so has time to write. He is glad his present pleased Edwards. If it had not been for the money he earned last summer, he could not have bought any Christmas presents at all. He was at a masque ball the Friday after Christmas and met about thirty new girls, but forgot them in a day or two.
