Miss Isabel Shea who is writing the life of her father writes to obtain possession of his letters to correspondents. She seems chagrined at Edwards' refusal. There must be some mistake as Onahan is sure that Edwards would take an interest in the success of the work. He thinks Edwards ought to prepare a paper for the Congress on the materials he has gathered on the history...

The committee on Organization will nominate Edwards as one of the three secretaries of the Columbian Catholic Congress which is to convene Sept. 4. The secretaries are named in compliment to Georgetown, Notre Dame, and Christian Brothers' College St. Louis. He rejoices in the assurance of the continued and increasing prosperity of Notre Dame. Edwards is one of his oldest and truest friends. Edwards' good wishes for the New Year came in good season. How steadily the circle of friends is narrowing! Edwards is now to him one of the "ancients" of Notre Dame University. Edwards recalls for him all its traditions and associations. Onahan saw by the papers that Edwards was in New York, so he was in no urgency to acknpwledge Father Corby's invitation to the celebration of Father Edward F. Sorin's C.S.C. Golden Jubilee on August 15. It will be an honor to attend. Onahan leaves for Nebraska this week to visit their colony of the Irish catholic Colonization Association. Sorin will remain a towering character in the history of the American Church.
