Engraving, "Execution des Criminels Condamnées par l'Inquisition" (2 folders), circa 18th century
There are two copies of the same image of varying quality, both hand-colored. Both depict a burning on the docks in Lisbon, before a large crowd, at the conclusion of a public auto-de-fe. Only one copy has French text, along with a manuscript note in Dutch. The other may be from a different printer.

Termination of an agreement with convicted judaizers, who had been allowed to retain their property so long as this was invested in Brasilian commerce. Such properties are now to be seized by royal authorities, including inquisitors.

First documnt is a description of an auto in Lisbon; the other is a copy of a royal decree against the Marquis de Pombal. The second document only is dated 3 September, 1779 at the royal Palacio de Queluz, near Lisbon.
