Scrapbook featuring numerous snapshots by Carter of Soviet Russia. Carter took these photographs during his first trip to Russia following the Bolshevik Revolution. The photographs focus on everyday life, often focusing the poverty that he witnessed in the nation in the years after the Civil War. In addition to these images of day-to-day life, the scrapbook also includes several images related to avant-garde theater in Soviet Russia, most notably the Meyerhold Theater in Moscow.
