He reports good health for himself and his company; they have enough to eat, "but rather a scant allowance for [the] horses." He says he sold the "little sorrell pony" he brought from home for $200, $150 of which he will send to Mathias soon. He has refused an offer of $400 for "my Filly," also brought from home.
