Mid-Twentieth Century New York City College Basketball Scrapbook

 Item — Container: 1
Identifier: MSSP_5009

Content Description

A scrapbook of newspaper clippings about men's basketball derived from mainly New York City newspapers. A few clippings are from glossy publications like programs, magazines, or guidebooks. The vast majority of clippings consist of newspaper photographs of basketball teams, players, and coaches. Most images are posed with a few action shots. There are only a small number of clipped articles. There are a few clippings about other levels of basketball, including high school basketball. Most of the clippings involve teams who played games in New York City, particularly in Madison Square Garden.

There is no indication about who assembled this scrapbook. Several of the earlier clippings are pasted on letterhead from the American Architect magazine, which was published in New York City and which ceased printing in 1938.
