Letters to Sauer, from various, 1902-1925
Scope and Contents
Photocopies of manuscript letters and postcards in French, English, and German, that take up 81 notebook pages. The letters are mostly to Joseph Sauer, from Henri Brémond, Felix Klein, Alfred Loisy, Friedrich von Hügel, Rhoda von Schubert, and George Tyrrell. An itemized list of the correspondents is on the front cover. The volume also includes letters from Sauer to Loisy and von Hügel. There are annotations in Loome's hand throughout. The volume includes a typescript sheet indicating a missing letter from Loisy to Sauer from 1902 and a list of "possible Sauer-correspondents" clipped to the inside front cover; a typescript letter to Loome in German, dated 1972, with a transcription of a letter, clipped to p. 47; and a typescript sheet on p. 81 of "references to Sauer" found in letters from Tyrrell to Maude Petre and Friedrich von Hügel.
