Scope and Contents

The notebook is entitled: "Notebook N. 6.: Days of our Life' As rapid as waves are days of our life . . . Student Song. 'In the North.' Continuation 1907-08." (Tetrad N. 6 "Dni Nashei Zhizni" Bystry kak volny Dni nashei zhizni . . . Studencheskaia pesnia 'Na severe.' prodolzhenie 1907-08). This memoir continues the narrative of Notebook N. 5. It brings to a conclusion "In the north" and continues with "Course year." Again it appears that this volume was written by RNN in Georgia in the 1920s, and annotations to the text were interpolated by her in the 1960s. The text is written in Russian with occasional passages in French and German. Of special note are such items as a photoprint of the session of the State Duma on March 6, 1907 (p. 470), the photoprint of the State Duma session hall before the official opening on April 27, 1906 (p. 466); numerous Iraklii Tsereteli's letters and postcards sent to Rusudana from prison; the title and table-of-contents of the book printed in Geneva, Switzerland in 1908 based on the writings of Iraklii Tsereteli and other prominent social democrats which Rusudana helped to smuggle abroad (pp. 508-509); two entrance passes for the grand meeting dedicated to the memory of D. I. Mendeleev held at the Imperial U. of St. Petersburg in 1907 (p. 581), and a photo of Nikolai (Niko) Nikoladze's work room (p. 651). Rusudana also describes her trips to Imatra (Finland) and Vyborg, the revolutionary events of 1905, the dissolution of the First State Duma in January 1907, the convocation and dissolution of the Second State Duma between February and June of 1907; the arrest and impisonment of Iraklii Tsereteli and fifty-five other members of the Social-Democratic party in June 1907; the death and funeral of Dmitrii Ivanovich Mendeleev in February 1907, and the convocation of the First Mendeleev Congress on December 30, 1907.
