Funeral Processions, circa 1926-1929
Scope and Contents
The two postcards depict a funeral procession, with two coffins - one white and one black - leaving a house and then on the road to a local panteón for burial. The Tlaxiaco, Oaxaca stamps on the reverse of the postcards suggest that this may be the funeral procession of father and son Rafael and Vicente Acevedo (executed 6 August 1926). The photo also depicts a funeral procession. This image may be the procession accompanying the body of the deceased Father Miguel Pro (executed 23 November 1927).
