Biographical / Historical

The Movimiento Revolucionario Nacionalista was an uprising by the Partido Nacional as a result from a strained agreement that divided power over the country's districts between the ruling Partido Colorado and their opposition, the Partido Nacional. Resulting from this uprising, Uruguay was divided into sixteen departments (what had previously been thirteen), and the Partido Nacional was given control over six, where previously they had four.
