Henry Borsook, Professor of Biochemistry at the California Institute of Technology from 1929 to 1968, was the author of Vitamins: What They Are and What They Will Do for You, published in 1940. During World War II he served on the Food and Nutrition Board, and helped draw up the dietary table of Recommended Daily Allowances.
