Thomas W. Cridler International Correspondence, Belgium, 1902 September 15-16
Scope and Contents
Includes retained copies of correspondence directed to Commandant C. Leibrechts, Secretary-General for the Department of the Interior of the Belgian Congo and officials of the exposition. Cridler is hoping to secure an exhibit from "the vast African region which, through the perseverance, intelligence, and indomitable energy of His Majesty the King of the Belgians, had been most wonderfully developed and shown to be fertile in many valuable products." Cridler describes his audience with King Leopold II where he explained a colonial exhibit "would show wonderful strides had been made in the interest of commercial development."
