The bottom border of the map includes a small section about Chief Illiniwek, the University of Illinois mascot; and a map key listing all 238 college football teams with their locations and nicknames. The map also includes inlaid sections about the 1946 UPI All-American football team; the "origins of famous plays"; "what goes on in the huddle"; NFL and AAFC all-professional teams; and the dimensions of a football field.
