Contains clippings, arranged chronologically, from sporting journals like the New York Clipper, Sporting Life, Mirror of American Sports, the Sporting Times, and others, as well clippings from major metropolitan daily newspapers mostly from New York with some other cities represented. Significantly, this scrapbook includes extensive clippings from the short-lived National Daily Base Ball Gazette (NDBBG) published in New York City and edited by O.P Caylor from about April 16, 1887 to April 28 1887. The scrapbook contains the full front page of the April 23, 1887 edition of NDBBG, and the column from the April 28, 1887, edition announcing the end of the publication. There are notes on a few pages throughout made by an unknown person. The latter part of the scrapbook contains numerous clippings about the Brotherhood of Professional Base Ball Players.
