Scope and Contents

Commemorative envelope cover printed by the Gertrude Stein Philateltic Society (GSPS) in conjunction with "The First Gay Olympic Games, August 28, 1982, San Francisco." Envelope bears a drawing by artist Charles Musgrave of two interlocking male symbols and two interlocking female symbols connected by a triangle. The cancellation date is August 28, 1982, the date of the opening ceremonies. "Sokols Physical Fitness" stamp (5 cents) is affixed. The original accompanying Babe Zaharias stamp (18 cents) has been lost.
