Scope and Contents

This series contains original hand-colored drawings and lettering specimens, all in watercolor, mainly on rectos of repurposed postcards intended for projection via an epidiascope (mirror-image projection via magic lantern) by Eric Gill and his daughters Elisabeth, Petra and Joan. Many drawings have captions with lettering in reverse. The collection also contains two drawings by Joseph Cribb (1892-1967), Eric Gill’s apprentice, and several miscellaneous letters.
