Scope and Contents
Cover ornamented with large label of US $100 bank note. Portrait of Benjamin Franklin is replaced with that of the artist(?), and every instance of the letter "N" on the note is colored in red. Rubber stamps in red ink: soldier with star above head, red star, sender's return address. Rubber stamp in black ink: cartoon pointing hand, circular seal design with "ZONA THE N-TITY". Envelope flap is sealed with a postage stamp from the Soviet Union. Sheet of artist stamps enclosed. 24 stamps, blue paper, features a portrait of the artist and heraldry for the fictional nation "BASUTOLAND". Sheet of artist stamps enclosed. 56 stamps, tan paper, featuring portraits of the artist added to official postage stamps from various nations. Sheet of artist stamps enclosed. 15 stamps, red paper, features the face of the artist put onto the body of a posing woman. Laballed "COMTESSE DE BANVILLE", it is possible that the original photograph is of the Comtesse de Castiglione. Exact date unknown (CDS too faint).
