According to the first page of the scrapbook: "This is a book of both records and pictures of Notre Dame belonging to Gerald E. McAdams, 108 Corby Hall / 42 Walsh, March 5, 1914." Background

Gerald E. McAdams of Penn Yan, New York, came to Notre Dame in 1913 at the age of 16 and came back at the age of 17 for the 1914- 1915 academic year. According to a note in the Notre Dame Scholastic 50:34, 9 June 1917: "The University of Notre Dame Club of Detroit gave a banquet at the Hotel Statler, May 15, in honor of the members of the club who left for Fort Sheridan to join the Officers' Reserve Corps. Among those who have enlisted for, army service . . . Gerald McAdams."
