Scope and Content

Four reels of 16 mm film dating from the 1930s made by Harold D. Crotty, showing a Christmas tree, a woman pushing a toddler on a tricycle, a train ride, a crash site, a parade, a child with toys, a football team coming out into a stadium, football game scenes, a marching band, stadium stands; the Brown Derby restaurant, Los Angeles and southern California, automobiles driving and parked in the street, a parade featuring floats with a Trojan horse and a Viking long ship, Miss All American, a fire and fire fighters; horse races and spectators at the track, a flag lowering, a woman playing tennis and a toddler trying to play, a dog, wetlands; beach scenes including girls in dresses playing games, the Goodyear blimp, boys 3 or 4 years old in swim suits playing in the sand, a man and a boy feeding pigeons, a Pan American sea plane; city streets and buildings, desert scenes, a Westward Ho sign, Phoenix train station, golf course, a "Feminine Conditioning" club, Zoological and Water Gardens with a swan and bears, waterlilies, the Ambassador Hotel and Cocoanut Grove, scenery from a train window, and an alligator.

Harold D. Crotty of Chicago appears in the Notre Dame Football Review listed as one of the "Friends of Notre Dame Football" and as a Patron in the late 1920s and early 1930s. Knute Rockne had in his files as Notre Dame Athletic Director a Harold D. Crotty file.
