Correspondence deals with and includes: a variety of letters, some dealing with personal matters and business matters, i.e. McCartney's opposition to the Communist Party; contributions to Catholic charities through the National Catholic Welfare Conference; summons for McCartney to appear before the Un-American Activities Committe of the House of Representatives; an autobiography (1951) of McCartney to be used in a West Virginia Labor Day celebration; small number of various newspaper clippings. Correspondents include: John D. McGillis, Financial Secretary, Detroit Council, Knights of Columbus; Harry E. O'Reilly, Director of Organization, AFL; John W.
