Carmody, M., Biloxi, Mississippi, to Archbishop Napoleon Joseph Perché, New Orleans, Louisiana, 1882 October 3
Scope and Contents
Carmody hopes that Perché's health is completely restored. Carmody being somewhat restored, left the Little Sisters of the Poor on August 22, having in 18 months undergone more of, moral sufferings than physical. Carmody could not identify with the people there. Since June, Carmody had received encouragement from a friend in Biloxi to come over for the bathing, etc. Carmody accepted as her daughter would be let home to see her after a whole year. On the Thursday after retreat her daughter was ordered off on the boat that evening. These holy people leave nothing undone to complete her daughter's detachment. Carmody cannot stay in Biloxi as the bathing season ended October 1. She would like a position inNew Orleans till she could secure a position in the country. :: VI-3-d A.L.S. 2pp. 8vo.
