Yesterday Eugène called on Perché and Father Roussel humiliated him. He is a son of Angers, related to Mrs. De la grandière through his father, an ex-Colonel of the artillery. He is also related to Father Parentina, pastor of Ste. Eulalie in Bordeaux. Eugéne is headed for Opelousas where he plans to have a school. He is Mrs. de la grandiére's only heir.
