Branche, Father Blaise, Chataignier, Louisiana, to Bishop Francis Xavier Leray, New Orleans, Louisiana, 1882 September 11
Scope and Contents
Branche hopes that this letter will be more fortunate than the one of July 16. After enlarging his church and presbytery by 30 feet he felt the necessity of working on the building of a Sisters' school. But as the land belongs to the church, Branche asks what to do. He would propose to have all the materials sent gratis; the purchase of the lumber, etc. and the labor woul be in charge of the Sisters. His parish has not had Confirmation for 4 years; if Leray can come this year, he would ask for a month's notice. :: VI-3-d A.L.S. French 2pp. 12mo.
