If Pope Leo XIII has responded, to her plea, why does not Perché tell her. Perché told her verbally that he authorized Sister Radégondis Gouley, O.S.B . and Sister Bernard, O.S.B. to transfer their vows from Covington, Kentucky to New Orleans. Cunégunda is distressed by so great a change. Perché's enemies seem to give him sage advice while they make sport of him. What can she expect of men; they are weak and blind.
