Delcros, Father F, Baignes Charente, France, to Archbishop Napoleon Joseph Perché, New Orleans, Louisiana, 1882 September 5
Scope and Contents
Delcros adds to his brother's letter. They were both born in Velay and studies at seminaries far from there. Delcros is in parish work in the diocese of Angoulème. His brother has spent several years in teaching. They believe it is time for him to devote himself to the salvation of souls in a country where Delcros himself would like to work. His brother knows German and could easity learn English. Delcros' poverty and expenses of his mother's illness keep him from sacrificing money for his brother. His brother's testimonial proves his piety and pruity of conduct. Delcros asks Perché to grant this minor cleric all the faculties possible that he may become a priest. A.L.S. :: VI-3-d A.L.S., D.S.
