Enaut, Father Ludovic, Monroe, Louisiana, to Bishop Francis Xavier Leray, New Orleans, Louisiana, 1882 September 4
Scope and Contents
Before leaving New York Father Victor Francis John Pellouin wrote saying that Father N.J. Roulleaux has all power over what belongs to Pellouin. A few days after, Enaut received a letter from Roulleaux saying that before leaving America Pellouin asked him to go to Monroe and bring to Shreveport what belonged to Pellouin, to save Roulleaux a trip. Enaut had all of Pellouin's things sent to Shreveport. Enaut infers that Pellouin either does not intend to come back to America or that he knows he will never come back to Monroe. This conclusion affords Enaut a great relief. If Leray has no other place for Pellouin, Enaut is bound to say to let him go. Enaut is getting along well, the people did not like Pellouin. :: VI-3-d A.L.S. 3pp. 8vo.
