Deverchere's first wife was the niece of Bishop Pontbriant of Quebec; his second wife came from the Convent of St. Marie de Chateau Salins, France. Deverchere was at the college at Vaugirard, a protege of the family of Louis Philippe who paid for his college with the aid of Princess Adelaide. Deverchere today is in a critical position.
