Chauvin, Father J.E., Mansura, Louisiana, to Bishop Francis Savier Leray, New Orleans, Louisiana, 1882 February 3
Scope and Contents
The mission Leray has given them in regard to Father L. Julien Galop shows that they have Leray's confidence. But Chauvin would like to know that precise points of accusation. For this it is necessary that they have the signatures and complaints if any are written from Avoyelles. The thing is so grave for the future of a priest. They have not yet heard anything very serious about him. Is it drinking, is it gambling, or the other vice which is so degrading. Chauvin will keep Leray informed. :: VI-3-d A.L.S. French 2pp. 12mo.
