Scope and Contents
For the last six days he has been watching by the bedside of Father Joseph Mary Quèlard who is not expected to survive but a few days. He will take his remains to Monroe. He has received $50 from Father P. Felix Dicharry for Quèlard. The Catholics of Vicksburg are very generous. He has collected at Lake Providence, Milliken's Bend, and Monroe; he has borrowed money and he will do everything to soothe the affliction. He will give him a decent burial. Father C.
