Dubourg, Father Armand, Opelousas, Louisiana, to Archbishop John Mary Odin, C.M., New Orleans, Louisiana, 1868 February 4
Scope and Contents
Before leaving New Orleans, Odin told him to write and send news. Father Alexander M. Méhault now gives this opportunity. They have both adjusted very well to the parish. As Odin knows, they have had some very sad predecessors. Although the parishioners do not speak of them openly, they often make allusions. After returning from New Orleans, Father J. Francis Raymond told them that they might replace him during his absence in France. Dubourg asks Odin to advise them as to what they would have to do in this circumstance. :: VI-2-n A.L.S.
