Langlois, Father Auguste B., Pointe-a-la-Hache, Louisiana, to Archbishop John Mary Odin, C.M., New Orleans, Louisiana, 1866 December 5
Scope and Contents
The parents of a young lady to whom he gave the last Sacraments and who died during his last trip to the city, asked the sacristan to supply all the ceremonies possible, which he did. Langlois asks if in case of sickness or his absence on mission, the sacristan could not bring the body to the church, ring the bell, and accompany the body to the cemetery. Langlois has heard of this being done when there were few priests in Louisiana. Judge Foulhouse has asked Langlois to ask Odin for a copy of the Bishops' pastoral letter of the Baltimore Council. Langlois asks one for himself also in French and English. :: VI-2-l A.L.S. French 2pp. 4to.
