Communication is restored; after 4 years of separation he sends his respects. He is still at his old post with Father Peter Tarrillon. He needs a good teacher. They had two during the war who did more harm than good. The difficulty is to find a man who would suit. The pay is $400 to $500 in specie. There are 50 students in the winter, and 30 to 40 in the summer. He also needs a teacher for Basse Prairie whose teacher had to leave for San Antonio because of his health.
