Since October he has not been allowed to go out of Plaquemine. When called to visit the sick, he could not obtain a pass. He applied many times to the Major but in vain. He wrote to General Sherman but received no answer. On December 20, the church was closed by order of the Major. Follot is unconscious of the cause. Long since he took the oath of neutrality.
