They ask Odin's assistance to beg Father Anthony Jourdan, S.J. to let them have Father J. Francis Abbadie, S.J. until Odin can send them a priest. Abbadie said he could do nothing without the permission of his superior. Lévèque does not know what they will do without a priest in these unfortunate times if Baton Rouge and Plaquemine are closed to them.
