Dens, Father C.B., President of the Grand Seminary, Malines, Belgium, to Archbishop John Mary Odin, C.M. of New Orleans, Lyons, France, 1862 November 20
Scope and Contents
A first letter about his pupil Ceuppens, not having reached Odin, he repeats his earlier recommendation. Ceuppens has appeared to have a firm piety, he is of a gentle character, obedient and respectful towards his superiors. He is ahead of half of his fellow students in his studies; his health is good and Dens believes he would make a good pastor and a good missionary. However, he is still only a subdeacon and is only about to begin his third year of theological studies. Odin will judge if this is a reason to make him wait a year. ` A.L.S.
