O'Reilly has just learned that there is hope that a letter can reach New Orleans. He is happy and well. So is Archbishop Peter Richard Kenrick of St. Louis whom he had the pleasure of seeing a few days ago. He has been uneasy about Odin and about Texas, and he desires to hear from him. His niece, Rose, is well and lives with a relative of his in St. Louis. He wonders how James P. Nash, Father Louis C.M. Chambodut, and Father Michael Shehan are.
