the undersigned declare that in participating in the attack on the curé of the churches of St. Andrew and St. Mary on last August 25 they were completely ignorant that they placed themselves in a state of excommunication. Persuaded that he Church condemns their conduct, they are sincerely repentant and pledge not to give any such scandal in the future. They beg him to lift the interdict on their church. ` A.L.S.
