He had not answered Rousselon's letter because he thought he was leaving for New Orleans immediately, but in accordance with Rousselon's wishes he has written Mr. Magruder a letter which should produce a good effect. He has sent Rousselon's two letters to Mr. Hogan who said that he would consider the matter.
