Scope and Contents

This printed document quotes the grant of the indulgence to those not able to go to the stations for the Way of the Cross, granted on January 26, 1773, and asks whether there are required 14 Paters and Aves and also 5 Paters and Aves according to the usual form or whether there should be 20 as the Sacred Congregation requires, 5 for the Wounds and one for the intention of the Holy Father, and whether brass is the only material for the crucifix to be held during the prayers. Pope Pius IX through the Sacred Congregation answers: 1. That the custom of the Congregation is to be followed, and 2. That the cruficix should be of permanent material. Aloysius Colombo signs as secretary. :: VI-2-b D. Printed Latin and Italian 1p. folio
