Scope and Contents
Chavaete received Blanc's letter of May 1. This year the sum indicated in Blanc's letter will be sufficient. Their establishment is prospering. Chavaete has read in the papers about America's financial crisis which made him understand that their interests would have suffered more or less. He has also learned of the misery caused by the flooding of the Mississippi; he begs Blanc to be careful of his health. In Belgium, the Liberals are in the majority just now.
