Aubert left the Propagateur in silence; he did no wrong. He made up a reason; he could not give the real one. At first he laughed at the Rambler article and then cried in view of the sad consequences. At the request of Father Maenhaut Aubert read the passage about St. Louis in the last number of the Propagateur; he consulted Rochborcher?; St. Louis is not a persecutor of the Church. De Sard did not bring Aubert's honor into question but Aubert prizes Blanc's honor even more than his own and that is why he writes. P.S.
