Jouvre had written to send her when Blanchet could; Blanchet is counting on Blanc to find her a place. The village is quiet now; fear has left them. But it is not certain that some white or black will not do something bad. Everyone has received Dr. Smith with joy; he is at Mr. St. Mare 's at the lake.
