Casimir, New Orleans, Louisiana, to Archbishop Anthony Blanc, New Orleans, Louisiana, 1855 May 24
Scope and Contents
Joseph Stras, manufacturer of religious articles, living at Lafayette, asked Casimir to carve some copper molds in order to make medals like? those from Rome. Casimir succeeded without spoiling the models. He took the work to him and when he returned later he was told that Joseph found it too high priced and that he did not want it and that he was leaving New Orleans. His bill amounted to 40 piastres. These articles are useless to Casimir and he loses the fruit of his work. As a Catholic Casimir appeals to Blanc to prevent his losing this amount. :: VI-1-i A.L.S. French 3pp. 4to.
