Fregier is searching for the prisoners and asks Blanc to give her news about Cleris Bonnet, son of the late élix Bonnet, lieutenant commander, who died in England as a prisoner of war at Plymouth, a Creole of St. Pierre, Martinique. The son was born near Bordeaux from which Fregier also comes. The mother, Fregier's sister, deceased, told her that he was living at New Orleans, and that he was a merchant. :: VI-1-i A.L.S.
