Rousilon's letter of last evening greatly surprised Montgomery as he has never been prohibited saying Mass by the Archbishop of New Orleans either in his cathedral or elsewhere. Montgomery has nothing very late either verbal or written; he sends herewith no enclosure what he finds from the Archbishop. With? them? Rousilon will find a statement? against what Montgomery believed and is yet of the opinion, to be cruel treatment.
