About April, 1849, an Irishman, James Breen was seen in New Orleans in a sickly state. He is supposed to have gone into the hospital for the poor under the care of the Sisters and to have died there. His wife, thinking him dead, wishes to marry. Molony asks Blanc to look at the registers and send him word. Molony congratulates Blanc on the church over which he presides and on his elevation to the Archiepiscopal dignity.
