Scope and Contents

From what they heard from Father Jourdan, they hoped to receive a visit from Blanc at the distribution of prizes, but a second letter makes them give up this hope. This year their house at St. Louis lost 8 persons, that of St. Michael, 2 and perhaps 3 as she does not think Madame Corboy, R.S.C.J. is still alive. Mother Lion, R.S.C.J. is nearing the end and they have a novice who is very ill. Mother Superior has asked Levèque to tell Blanc that she has had to give up the foundation at New Iberia. Mrs. Darby was here yesterday to find out what they had decided. Mother told her that with all their losses they could not undertake a new foundation, but that if she wished she could get some other Sisters. Levèque believes she would like to have the Visitandines. Natchitoches needs help. Madames Doremus, Fréret, Gardiner and Wiseman should make their vows during vacation; will Blanc authorize some one to hold the examination. V-5-l - A.L.S. - French - 4pp. - 4to. - {8}
